Park Min Young talks about Lee Minho, ‘City Hunter’, and crying scenes

by ramham424 @allkpop.com

Park Min Young candidly shared her experiences about acting on ‘City Hunter‘ through a mini-interview.
She began by spotlighting her co-star, actor Lee Minho. The two engaged in some Judo scenes together, and she mused, ”I got trained in Judo for about a month but since there is a significant height difference between me and Lee Minho, there were some risks for injury. But since we shoot Judo scenes very often, Lee Min Ho swiftly falls over when I lift him. He does it well so even though it’s hard, it’s very fun and satisfying when the scenes come out nicely.”
She also talked about her role as ‘Kim Nana’. “Nana is a character who faces the hardship of overcoming her scars and pain in her heart. However, she is very bright and brave; she’s an adventurous woman who confesses to Yoon Sung first thinking that she should always be by his side.”
Park Min Young revealed her thoughts about her lauded ‘3-step crying scene’ by stating, “Because I teared up while thinking about my own parents, it was a scene that was very close to my heart. I was very thankful that people named it ‘3-step crying scene’ and was very happy when viewers said that they cried along with me. It also made me think that I should work even harder.”

City Hunter (kissing scene) BTS

City Hunter’s Lee Min Ho still looks luminous in a bandana

In City Hunter, Yun Seong, played by Lee Min Ho, has actively been engaged in the revenge project to get back at those involved with the wrongful death of his biological father.
To conceal his identity as a “city hunter,” he has often employed diverse disguises such as hat, glasses and mask. This time, he wore a turtleneck black bandana which moulds to his face, covering more than half of his face. Dressed in the bandana, he performed a splendid action.
On July 2, he shot the action scene on a set in Gyeonggi-do. Despite the sweltering heat with temperature of, more or less, 30 and, even in the bandana, Lee showed genuine enthusiasm in creating great scenes. It must have been difficult to display any expression out through the disguise, but his sharp, fierce looks in his eyes have successfully been captured by the cameras. It is said that he played Yun Seong, who bears a huge grudge, in a realistic manner to the extent that even the filming crew at the shooting were overwhelmed by his hostile eyes.
With each episode, City Hunter’s thrilling plotline and excellent performances of the lead actors have increased viewers’ anticipations. In particular, Yun Seong’s well-trained actions are amazing enough to catch viewers’ eyes. In addition, the confrontation at fever pitch between Yun Seong and his step father, and his ardent love toward Na Na, played by Park Min Young, have made it difficult for viewers to take their eyes off the TV screens. With all the factors combined, City Hunter is expected to keep its dominant position in audience ratings among the Wednesday-Tuesday drama series.
The production team says, “As the shooting nears to the end, it’s natural for the staff and actors to lose their stamina. But the gradual rise in its popularity seems to serve as our driving engine, so the atmosphere at the shooting is still lively and bright. Please give us your constant interest and support until the series ends.”
Meanwhile, at the end of the 12th episode, Yun Seong’s step father is determined to kill Na Na as part of the head-to-head confrontation with his son Yun Seong. As soon as the episode ended, the official website of City Hunter was swamped with inquired of numerous viewers about the following episodes, which resulted in a temporary shut-down of the site.
