Multi-talented actress Goo Hye Sun will make her return as a singer with the release of her 5th digital single, "Were We Happy"!

"Were We Happy" is a remake of Seo In Guk's song of the same title featuring Goo Hye Sun, and expresses the feelings of regret and emptiness after a breakup from a woman's perspective this time around.

Excited about her upcoming release, the actress and singer commented, "I am releasing it with winter in mind. I have faith that a lot of people will relate to the lyrics... I want to continue to share my music."

Seo In Guk also showed his support as he said, "'Were We Happy' was originally composed and written by Goo Hye Sun sunbaenim and was featured in my previous mini album... I think that you will be able to feel Goo Hye Sun sunbaenim's emotions this time so I am also looking forward to it. I think it will be a beautiful song that is perfect for winter. Fighting."

"Were We Happy" will be released on the 28th, which is tomorrow! In the meantime, listen to Seo In Guk's version below to acquaint yourself with the song!

Ku Hye Sun, “It will be a big challenge in my life”

Actress Ku Hye Sun suggested that she plays three roles in her film “Daughter”, as a producer, script writer, and actress.

Ku is presenting a new film one year after “The Peachtree” in 2012, drawing much attention to her career as a filmmaker.

 “Daughter” (produced by Ku Hye Sun film, Yes Production), produced and written by Ku, is a psychodrama that depicts a mother who gives her daughter an oppressive corporal punishment and her suffering daughter. Ku sends a message to society through the film.

The title of the film “Daughter” implicates Ku’s original idea of expressing a distorted education and love of a mother.

Starting from “The Madonna”(2008), Ku has built her career as a filmmaker by producing total five films: “Magic”(2010), “You”(2010), Fragments of Sweet Memories”(2012), and “The Peachtree”(2012), which created a huge sensation with an unusual story and beautiful images. Through her films, she has proven her capabilities as a filmmaker, and built her presence in Korean movie world. 

Notably, since Ku, who has shown her talent as a filmmaker, painter, and writer, has acted only for TV dramas so far, the new film is coming under the spotlight, as she is known to act in it. Fans’ expectations are heightening, for the news that Ku will come back as an actress after a long break. 

Shim Hye Jin who has been casted as the main role of film “Daughter”, is a leading actress who has a unique position in Korean film scene since 1989. Her filmography includes “The Marriage Life”(1992), “The Girl for Love and the One for Marriage”(1993), "The Ginko Bed”(1996), and “Green Fish”. 

Shim is casted as the role of the mother who forces an oppressive education, creating ensemble with Ku, who acts as her daughter who goes against the mother. 

Ku said, “I have refrained from acting for my own film, but I decided do so thanks to support from other filmmakers. I think it will be a big challenge in my life.” “Since I come back as an actress after a long break, I’ll do my best to live up to fans’ expectations”, added she.

[News] Ku Hye Sun’s next directorial project “Da Woo Duh” (“Thousand More”) will have collaboration with Shim HyeJin

On Nov 19th, a film affiliate informed the news that Ku Hye Sun will be making a new movie, called “DaWooDuh (Thousand More)”. The attraction of the movie is that Ku Hye Sun will be both directing and acting in it. And her co-actor who will act as her mother will be Shim HyeJin. How their collaboration will fare is another attraction. 


Ku Hye Sun has been very active in making her movies. Shim HyeJin has not been very active recently… She came out in a movie called “Dark? Daughter and Mother” in 2008 and then a cameo appearance in “Papa” last year. (I think I saw Shim HyeJin in a variety show Barefoot Friends cooking for the cast…I think…she lives in a home that looks like a castle in a paradise!!)

Back to the movie, “DaWooDuh” (“Thousand More”) ?? is a story of a daughter whose early childhood conflict with her mother nearly ended their relationship and how she develops a change of heart. The movie will be produced by S Production. Soon after the casting is completed in a little while, she will start cranking her movie by the end of this year.

It's no longer news when a kpop star takes a role in a kdrama. Yoona starred in "Love Rain" and IU in "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin." All of Kara have now appeared in dramas, as have the other members of Girls Generation.

But there are a few actresses who are already so well known for their acting that people have forgotten they ever had Kpop aspirations. And newer kdrama fans may never havek known.

Yoon Eun Hye is a great example. Currently starring as an aspiring broadcast writer in "Future's Choice," the actress sang with the group Baby V.O.X. from 1995 to 2005. The youngest member of the group, she was known for being cute. While she still occasionally plays cute in comedic roles, she's also done some serious acting. She shed lots of tears the melodrama "Missing You." Her first drama "Princess Hours" was one of most watched dramas in 2006 and since then she has been given a slew of acting awards.

Gu Hye Sun is a multi-talented performer but she's best known for her acting roles in "Boys Over Flowers" and "The Musical." She's also a director, author and illustrator. But what many people may not know is that she was meant to be a member of the girl group 2NE1 with Park Bom and Sandara Park. It's hard to imagine her on stage in place of CL but she does have musical talent and recently composed a song for and sang with Superstar K winner and actor Seo In Guk.

Lee Hee Jin, who currently plays Yoo Hye Ran in "Medical Top Team," was also once a member of Baby V.O.X. Known for her husky voice, she sang with the group from 1997 to 2006. Since then she has appeared in "It's Okay Daddy's Girl, "The Greatest Love" and "Monstar."

Another member of Baby V.O.X was Shim Eun Jin. The tomboy lead vocalist of the group, she sang with them from 1998 to 2004 then appeared in the dramas "Swallow The Sun" and "Merchant Kim Man Deok." Her recent dramas include "Gold Appear!" and "Her Legend."

Kim Yu Jin, also known as Uee was the vocalist and lead visual of the band "After School. But even before that she was supposed to be part of a girl group called Five Girls with Wonder Girls' Yubin. Secret's Hyosung, solo artist G.N.A., and Spica member Yang Jiwon. Five Girls disbanded before their debut. Although she is still an After School member, Uee has appeared in several dramas, including "Queen Seonduk," "Ojakgyo Brothers" and she played the drama queen everyone loved to hate in "You're Beautiful." She has a role in the upcoming drama "Golden Rainbow."

Fortunately, all of these talented artists chose to branch out into acting.

A rare appearance of Hye Sun but worth the wait. I have always love the way she carries herself, the way she chooses her attire, it really is her.

She has yet to disappoint me in her fashion sense. Oh, her pair of legs that is always a sight to behold is visible in the dress. Glad she did not wear slacks.
